| Florida in April is like a slice of paradise, the waters are warm and the weather is spectacular. Old and New Florida come together on this journey as our runs take you from the bustle of the South Beach Pier to the quiet of the Everglades National Park. Pristine blue waters surround you as you head south from Miami Beach on your way to the Southern most point in the United States, Key West, FL.
Arrive at the Palms Hotel set just off the busiest part of South Beach and right along the famous South Beach Pier. Today’s run takes you up and down the pier and along Collins Ave. The Atlantic borders one side with the posh Miami hotels lining the other. Enjoy dinner and a drink while experiencing the Miami Beach scene tonight. Day 2 Have a light breakfast at the hotel before heading to Key Biscayne, the site of today’s run. Just a short 20 minute drive from the hotel, the course takes you through Bill Braggs Cape and Crandon Park. Following the run we grab an afternoon lunch in Coral Gables, before an afternoon of relaxing and exploring the famous Lincoln Road area. Day 3 Today is a full day of exploring and running as we head out to The Everglades National Park. You will feel a million miles away from downtown Miami Beach as we run alongside alligators, manatees, egrets and the elusive Florida panther. Following our run enjoy an outdoor picnic before being joined by one of the Everglades Park managers for a private tour of the park. Head south to our next hotel on the private island of Duck Key, where you can Jet Ski, swim with the dolphins, play in the lagoon, or just plain relax. Enjoy a nighttime relaxing stretch before dinner on the beach. Day 4 Wake up for another full day as we start off with a run in and around Duck Key. Next board a boat at the hotel which will take you snorkeling in the shallow Florida waters before docking at our final destination Key West, FL. Enjoy dinner on the north side of the island before taking in the famous sunset scene at Mallory Square, where street entertainers provide the nightly entertainment. Day 5 Grab some morning energy food before we head North and the site of the famous Seven Mile Bridge. Today’s run takes us over portions of the old bridge, and alongside US 1. On the way back into town stop at one of the keys famous fish shacks for a lunch with the locals. Explore Duval St. and downtown before experiencing happy hour, a Key West tradition. Day 6 Our final run of the journey will take us throughout the island as we run through Duval St., past the US Naval Reservation and end at the Southern most point in the United States, just 90 miles from Cuba.
