Day 1

Our Journey begins in Seville, also known by the locals as Sevilla.  Meet your Host and Running Expert for lunch before heading out for our first run starting from the Plaza de Cuba along the Guadalquivir River.  Spend the rest of the afternoon visiting the Cathedral and La Giralda before dinner on the Plaza del Toros.

Day 2

After breakfast we journey north to the Sierra Norte de Seville, a nationally protected area and a wonderful place for running.  Locals call this area the “Real Spain,” and it is dotted by ten authentic villages with no more than 9000 inhabitants each.  We explore both Constantina and Cazalla de la Sierra where we enjoy lunch before heading back to Seville.  Upon our return, we spend the afternoon exploring the Alcazar, the fortress-palace of both Moorish and Christian rulers.

Day 3

Today we journey north by train to the one of the oldest cities in Spain, Cordoba.  This Northern most of the Moorish cities in Andalusia, Cordoba is a labyrinth of winding alleyways and patios.  Today we explore the city on foot as we spend the day running and sightseeing before heading back to Seville for dinner on your own tonight.

Day 4

We begin our Journey south to the Costa del Sol this morning stopping in Ronda on the way, which dramatically spans the El Tajo Gorge. Explore the cave riddled surrounding region and the largest bullring in all of Spain before lunch in town. Head south to Marbella and relax before our twilight run along the famed “Golden Mile” beach. Enjoy dinner in the old town at the Plaza de Los Naranjos.

Day 5

Long associated with celebrities and aristocrats, Marbella and relaxation go hand in hand. Today will serve as our rest day with no running on the agenda. Take the day to visit the Puerto Banus - just a short ferry ride from town, relax in the hotel spa, lie on the beach, explore the shops, and rejuvenate!

Day 6

Depart the sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol and make a brief stop in Mijas for a quick tour and private lunch. We continue to head north as we come to the ancient town of Antequera. Enjoy today’s run through narrow streets and past the prehistoric dolmens, tombs made from stones centuries ago. Arrive in time for dinner at our final destination, Granada.

Day 7

Grab an early breakfast before heading out to the deep leafy valleys of The Alpujarras. One of Spain’s most charming corners, the countryside and its bright white villages make for excellent running. Enjoy lunch in one of the regions eleven tiny towns before heading back to Granada and spending the afternoon at the Alhambra, the palace-fortress that has astounded travelers and historians for centuries. Enjoy our final late dinner in the Plaza de Bib-Rambla.

Day 8

On our final day we take the opportunity to run through Granada and explore some of the sights and sounds of the city that epitomizes the refined culture of Moorish Spain. Enjoy our final brunch together before heading home.
